Leadership appointments at the UK's Pioneering Liberal Arts University

Richmond American University London

Welcome

Thank you for your interest in these leadership roles at Richmond American University London.

Richmond is a unique institution, global in outlook and in practice, diverse and cosmopolitan in its cultures. A leading private not-for-profit institution, we are accredited in the United States by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and registered with the Office for Students in the UK, with taught degree awarding powers. Awarding both UK and US degrees, we bring together the best of British and American higher education and are the first university to have met the highest benchmarks of two of the world’s leading educational systems and therefore occupy a unique standing in global education. This remarkable achievement recognises the excellent quality and standards of the higher education provided by Richmond. This excellence is further underlined by the partnerships we have developed with leading American, European and Asian universities.

Operating in London since 1972, the university is true to its vision of being a leading liberal arts university, and of delivering its mission to educate and inform future generations by providing them with the knowledge and support to think critically, the freedom to challenge assumptions and the skills to work with others. On our 50th anniversary last year we moved from our historic home on Richmond Hill to a new campus building within the innovative and award-winning Chiswick Park in west London. The move to this new location during our 50th year has given the University significant opportunities, allowing us to develop new relationships with both local businesses and the community and reimagine our future as the UK’s pioneering liberal arts university.

Our new Provost and Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic (Provost) will play an instrumental role in delivering our ambitions. A member of the senior Executive, the Provost has primary responsibility for delivering the University’s learning and teaching strategy, research strategy, and for academic performance and reporting. Alongside the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Finance and Operations, the Provost is at the highest level of the University, reporting directly to the President and Vice-Chancellor, and is also an ex-officio member of the Board of Trustees.

Our Vice President of Marketing Recruitment and Communications is responsible for the co-delivery of the university’s recruitment target. They will play a pivotal role in helping the University to achieve its ambitions for growth along with developing the university’s profile and reputation in support of its strategic priorities and its vision, mission and values. The role is a member of the University Board and chairs the Marketing, Recruitment and Communications Committee.

Both roles require inspiring and energetic individuals with a track record of successful strategic leadership and a commitment to a university like ours. You will be to demonstrate the capacity to translate your professional experience effectively into our academic environment and work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver for our students. Above all, we are seeking highly motivated professionals who share a deep commitment to our values and will be a positive catalyst for change.

If you have any queries regarding the roles or the University, our advising consultants at Anderson Quigley would be pleased to have a conversation with you and their details can be found in this microsite.

I look forward to receiving your application.

President & Vice-Chancellor
