Welcome

Dear Colleague,

Welcome to UA92. I am delighted that you are considering expressing an interest to join us as our Chief Finance Officer or Finance Director.

UA92 was founded on the belief that higher education should be more than a qualification. From the beginning, our aim has been to broaden access, support social mobility and equip students with both academic knowledge and the practical, personal, and professional skills they need to thrive. Our partnership with Lancaster University ensures academic rigour and credibility, while our roots in the Class of 92’s ethos and links to industry help us deliver a distinctive, career focused learning experience.

You would step into this role at an exciting moment. Over the past years, UA92 has grown rapidly, developing multiple campuses including our business school in Manchester city centre, building a modern digital academy, and rolling out innovative courses across business, media, sport and digital disciplines.

As CFO/FD, your contributions will greatly matter. We are not looking for a passive custodian of finances, but rather a strategic leader who brings clarity, rigour and commercial insight; someone who can strengthen our planning and governance, scale our financial operations as we grow, and help us grasp new opportunities, all while staying true to our mission and values.

You will work closely with me, the Strategic Leadership Team, our Board, Lancaster University and our stakeholders to shape a finance function that supports expansion, delivers value, and protects the culture that makes UA92 different. I believe that with the right leadership, our finance team will not only underpin sustainability, but contribute actively to growing our impact, reach and long-term success.

I know many senior leaders arrive at a new role with ambition, high-standards and drive. These are qualities that UA92 values deeply. Here, you will find a culture that encourages initiative, values collaboration, and puts students and social purpose at the centre of decision making. I look forward to working with you to build a finance function that reflects those principles and sets us up to make a real difference.

Thank you for your interest in UA92. I believe this is a unique opportunity to shape a finance operation aligned to purpose, growth and impact, and to help write the next chapter in our story.

I wish you the best of luck in your application, and I look forward to meeting you should the opportunity arise.

With best wishes,

Sara Prowse
