Remuneration

£14,000 – £16,000 depending on time and experience

Time commitment

An average of 4 days a month, needing to be available on Wednesdays for ICB Board and committee meetings held face to face in Herefordshire or Worcestershire.

Local information

Organisations in the Herefordshire and Worcestershire ICS footprint serve a local population of 800,000 people, spread across a huge geographical area made up of urban and sparsely populated rural areas.  We also provide services to approximately 40,000 people in mid Wales. Consisting of a single CCG, three NHS Trusts, Seven Local Authorities, 15 Primary Care Networks, 80 GP Practices, 123 community pharmacies, 96 dentists and 64 optometrists.

Health and social care statutory organisations employ in excess of 20,000 people.  In addition, there are more than 30,000 staff working in domiciliary care or in care homes.

The Opportunity – Chair of Audit

As an independent non-executive member for an NHS ICB, you will help to shape a long-term, viable plan for the delivery of the functions, duties, and objectives of the ICB, and for the stewardship of public money.

You will bring independent oversight and constructive challenge to the priorities, plans and performance of the ICB executive team, and promote open and transparent decision-making that facilitates consensus.

You will need to operate beyond traditional organisational boundaries, driving forward the vision of integration, collaboration, and system-working, by forging productive relationships across local health, social care and voluntary partners.

You will have a key role in ensuring that the voice and needs of patients and communities are central to ICB discussions and decisions, so that strategies and services are inclusive and accessible to the whole population, and deliver the best possible health outcomes for all.

We are recruiting for a Non Executive Director for the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Integrated Care Board who will also be Chair of the Audit Committee. As such, you will have:

  • An excellent working knowledge of Audit Committee practices and risk management frameworks. They will also be the ICB Conflicts of interest Guardian.

We will also require our Non-Executive Directors to take responsibility for:

  • Driving improvements in equality, diversity and inclusion in the ICB and working with partner organisations to drive improvement across the workforce of Herefordshire and Worcestershire
