Anderson Quigley is pleased to be working with Sheffield Hallam University on the appointment of the Chief Finance Officer.

Competitive salary and benefits.

With a student community of 33,000, 4,500 staff, and an annual turnover of over £300m we are a thriving and vibrant organisation based in the heart of Sheffield.

Our aim is simple – to transform lives, shaping futures for our students and the Sheffield City Region, creating knowledge which makes a real difference, and being a beacon for what a world-leading applied university can achieve. Woven into the fabric and culture of Sheffield and the surrounding area, we are a university making a profound difference in leading improvements in social mobility, quality of life and the economy through the impact of our students, research and partnerships.

We are now looking to recruit an exceptional senior finance professional to build on the progress we have made to help shape and deliver the University’s financial strategy. This is a role designed to lead and support change in an organisation with expansive ambitions and a hunger for innovative solutions. Reporting to the Vice-Chancellor as a member of the University’s senior team, and working closely with other senior colleagues and the Board of Governors, the Chief Finance Officer will shape and lead our financial strategy, ensuring continued financial success and the delivery of our investment priorities to secure the achievement of the University’s vision and goals.

With experience of strategic and operational financial planning and advising on long term financing and commercial activity, you will be a professionally qualified finance leader with a sharp eye for detail as well as a strong strategic orientation. An experienced manager of change, you will be enterprising, dynamic and resilient. You will be able to lead and inspire a team and be comfortable translating complex financial data at Board level, providing confidence across the community. Ambitious for our University you will be a passionate promoter of our values and strategy.

We are keen to explore applications from across sectors, but candidates must be able to demonstrate a proven track record of relevant leadership in a complex, regulated environment, with competing measures of organisational success.
