You will make sure we make the most of the opportunities afforded to us and the potential that comes with our community interest company status.

As you find out more about us, I hope you will be encouraged to join us on our exciting journey.

Thank you for considering this role, and I wish you every success in your application.

About us

This is an exciting time for CityCare. Our staff are making a difference every day and are proud to work for CityCare; watch our new corporate film ‘We Are CityCare’ to find out more:

We work across organisational boundaries and sectors and collaborate with a vast range of public, private and third sector organisations in the health and social care arena.

We are able to connect services across the health and social care sector, including GPs, hospitals, specialist providers, voluntary and community groups and university research teams.

Nottingham CityCare is a community health services provider, dedicated to improving long-term health and wellbeing. We are a social enterprise delivering a range of healthcare services tailored to the needs of local people and free at the point of delivery.

Social enterprise

We provide NHS services, but we’re not the NHS. We have the freedom to be flexible, innovative and responsive and we work with local private, public and voluntary organisations to deliver the services people need.

We invest our profits back into the business or the local community. The main services we provide include caring for people in their own homes or community settings with the objective of keeping people out of hospitals unless medically necessary; health visiting and education for young families; community nursing and rehabilitation in their own homes for older people; walk-in urgent treatment centre; palliative and end-of-life care, specialist diabetes, dietetics and nutritional advice and support.

CityCare is far more than a provider of community healthcare services; we care for communities and employ local people who are embedded in those communities. We support and develop initiatives that aim to prevent ill health and injury and invest our social return in building wider community wellbeing.

Mission & values

Our mission is to “Make a difference every day to the health and wellbeing of our communities”. We will deliver this through our vision of high quality, locally-led care.

Our four key strategic aims are to:

  • Improve care delivery and transform our services.
  • Work in partnership to deliver better outcomes.
  • Provide rewarding working lives and careers.
  • Create long-term, sustainable improvement in our communities.

These are supported by new values: Kindness, Respect, Trust and Honesty, and our behaviours which are:

Teamwork, being Accountable, Courageous, and Inclusive.

These provide a strong foundation to help us achieve our mission.

As part of a wider care system, we will work closely with key partners to play our part in delivering the wider NHS Long Term Plan locally. As the largest provider of community care in Nottingham City, we are integral to delivering personalised care to support our patients to remain independent in the community. We are dedicated to providing the care you can trust, behaving with compassion and working efficiently and effectively to deliver on our promises.

We are committed to building strong working partnerships across the community and working hand in hand with our patients and our colleagues to improve health and wellbeing and deliver high quality care. We are committed to our social value and health inequalities agenda as well as ensuring there are
opportunities with partners across Nottinghamshire to contribute positively to the improvement of the health and wellbeing of our local population.

Our ambition is to work across organisational and social boundaries and lead meaningful change, which will deliver a healthier future for all.

Our Communities

The city of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire are in the East Midlands. The Nottingham City Council area has a population of around 335,000. It lies approximately 130 miles from London and the nearest airport is East Midlands Airport, offering both international and domestic flights, around 12 miles away.

Nottingham is commonly associated with the legend of Robin Hood, the heroic outlaw who traditionally took from the rich to give to the poor. Nottingham’s history, however, offers much more. Dating from the 6th century, the city has seen many industries over the centuries, such as wool, silks, malt, glass making, hosiery, bicycles, tobacco and lace. Today, Nottingham’s focus is more on technology, digital, service sectors and life sciences.

The city is experiencing huge regeneration, with billions of pounds being invested. It also aims to become the UK’s first carbon neutral city within the next six years. It is a very green city with many parks and, with its own tram network,  is recognised as one of the least car-dependent cities in the UK.

There are two well-respected, global universities, Nottingham Trent University and the University of Nottingham, which attract thousands of students every year.

Nottingham and Nottinghamshire have three major football clubs – Premier League Nottingham Forest, League One Mansfield Town and League Two Notts County, as well as the world-famous Trent Bridge Cricket Ground, National Ice Centre (home of Nottingham Panthers) and the National Watersports Centre.

While there are so many things that make Nottingham and Nottinghamshire a great place to live, the city does, of course,  have its challenges, particularly areas of high deprivation and health inequalities.

As an organisation and as are part of the wider family of the NHS (in our case delivering community-based services, mostly to people in their own homes) we are dedicated to tackling these challenges.

One of our key strategic aims is to “create long-term sustainable improvement in our communities”, – so if you join us, you know that you’ll be helping to make that happen. That’s what we mean about making a difference every day.
