You will only have to read the newspapers or listen to the news to know the significant challenges being felt across the NHS and social care sectors. At Nottingham City Care, we have continued to evolve and develop and see our opportunity to impact on the health and wellbeing of our local community.
We are an award-winning not-for-profit social partnership and community interest company and the largest provider of NHS community health services in Nottingham. Established in 2011, we have an annual turnover of £70m, providing high-quality care through a range of services, ranging from health visiting and education for young families to community nursing and home-based rehabilitation services. In addition, we operate the City’s Urgent Treatment Centre.

Our mission is to make a difference every day to the health and wellbeing of the people we serve. We believe in kindness, respect, trust, and honesty when dealing with each other, our partners and the people we care for.
If successfully appointed as our next Chief Executive, you will be supported by a passionate, values-driven and committed executive and non-executive team and a talented, caring, and compassionate workforce, which is highly respected across our health and social care system.
You will help finalise and implement a new long-term strategy, bringing with you a commercial awareness as well as the determination, skill, and vision, to meet any challenges, but take us beyond 2025 and into the next decade. You will make sure that we make the most of the opportunities afforded to us and the potential that comes with our community interest company status.
I hope that as you find out more about us you will be encouraged to join us on our exciting journey.

Nottingham CityCare is an award-winning community health services provider, dedicated to improving long-term health and wellbeing. We are a social enterprise delivering a range of healthcare services tailored to the needs of local people and free at the point of delivery.
Social enterprise
We are a provider of NHS services, but we’re not the NHS. We have the freedom to be flexible, innovative and responsive and we work with local private, public and voluntary organisations to deliver the services local people need.
A social enterprise is a business that trades to tackle social problems and to improve communities.
We reinvest our profits back into the business or the local community. The main services we provide include caring for people in their own homes or community settings with the objective of keeping people out of hospitals unless medically necessary; health visiting and education for young families; community nursing and rehabilitation in their own homes for older people; walk-in health centres for urgent care; palliative and end of life care and specialist diabetes, dietetics and nutritional advice and support.
CityCare is far more than a simple provider of community healthcare services; we care for communities and employ local people who are embedded in those communities. We support and develop initiatives that aim to prevent ill health and injury and invest our social return in building wider community wellbeing.
Our mission is to ‘Make a difference every day to the health and wellbeing of our communities’. We will deliver this through our vision of high quality, locally-led care.
Our four key strategic aims are to:
These are supported by our new values: Kindness, Respect, Trust and Honesty, and our behaviours which are:
Teamwork, being Accountable, Courageous, and Inclusive.
These provide a strong foundation to help us achieve our mission.
As part of a wider care system, we will work closely with key partners to play our part in delivering the wider NHS Long Term Plan locally. As the largest provider of community care in Nottingham City, we are integral to delivering personalised care to support our patients to remain independent in the community.

A Quality Account is a report about the quality of services offered by an NHS healthcare provider, such as CityCare.
Quality Accounts are an important way for us to report on quality and show improvements in the services we deliver to local communities and stakeholders. You can view our reports below:
The city of Nottingham is located in Nottinghamshire and in the East Midlands. With a population of around 335,000 residents, Nottingham is considered a fairly large city. It lies approximately 130 miles from London. The nearest airport is East Midlands Airport, around 12 miles away and offers both international and domestic flights.
Nottingham is commonly associated with the legend of Robin Hood, the heroic outlaw who traditionally took from the rich in order to give to the poor. However, Nottingham’s history offers much more. Dating from as far back as the 6th century, the city has seen many industries over the centuries such as wool, silks, malt, glass making, hosiery, bicycles, tobacco and lace! Today Nottingham’s focus is more on technology, digital, service sectors and life sciences.
Nottingham is experiencing a huge regeneration programme costing billions of pounds and also aims to become the UK’s first carbon neutral city within the next six years. It is a very green city with many gardens and parks and recognised as already being one of the least car dependent cities in the UK. Nottingham has its own tram network which eases a substantial amount of traffic congestion.
There are two well respected, global universities, Nottingham Trent University and University of Nottingham which attract a high level of students and sport lovers will be pleased to hear that Nottingham boasts two football clubs, a test match cricket ground, and ice and water sport centres.
Whilst Nottingham has a variety of attractions and pursuits and beautiful parks and glorious surrounding countryside, it does of course like any city, have its challenges of deprivation and health inequalities. As an organisation, CityCare is dedicated to tackling those challenges, along with partners. We are part of the wider family of the NHS; in our case delivering services to communities to people mostly in their own homes and within a community setting.
One of our key strategic aims is to ‘create long-term sustainable improvement in our communities’ – so if you join us, you know that you’ll be helping to make that happen. That’s what we mean about making a difference every day.
Our Board
Our board includes our Chair, Chief Executive, Director of Nursing and Allied Health Professionals and Quality, other senior executive directors and our Non-Executive Directors.
