Funded by Nottingham Trent University and D2N2 Local Growth Funding, the Medical Technologies Innovation Facility (MTIF) opened its new state-of-the-art dual-site facilities at Nottingham Trent University’s Clifton Campus and the Boots Enterprise Zone in Nottingham, November 2020.
MTIF’s mission is to help our customers improve the quality of patient care by accelerating the development and commercialisation of their innovative medical technologies. Through a unique fusion of scientific and commercial expertise, MTIF bridges the gap in the medical technologies sector between developed product and sustainable, profitable deployment utilising targeted research, technology review, regulatory support and comprehensive service evaluation. It also supports the translation of NTU’s best research in medical technology towards commercial impact.
At this critical point in our development, we are seeking to appoint a Managing Director, reporting directly to our Pro Vice-Chancellor for Enterprise and Knowledge Exchange. Responsible for the development and execution of business strategies and operations; you will ensure that MTIF achieves financial sustainability and make MTIF a recognised brand in the field of medical devices and technology, with national and international reach.
Innovative, commercially astute with a knowledge and understanding of the interface between academic institutions and commerce, you will recognise market trends in medical technology. You will have a proven track record of delivering a growth strategy, ideally within a medical technology related organisation. Sophisticated in terms of your ability to work with multiple stakeholders, developing effective partnerships, your approaches to practice and products will have a significant impact on MTIF and the wider University.
