Tower College

Welcome from the Principal

Thank you for your interest in the Head of Marketing role at Tower College. I am pleased that you are considering this opportunity to join our school, and we are excited to appoint a dynamic and strategic marketing leader who will play a pivotal role in the next phase of our development.

Tower College is a small independent school in Rainhill, Merseyside, educating just under 300 pupils aged 3–16, alongside our substantial day nursery, Tower Tots. While our size enables us to offer a more personal educational experience, it is our sense of community that defines us.

We are a warm, inclusive and supportive school where every pupil is known as an individual. Relationships between pupils and staff are strong, and there is a genuine culture of kindness and mutual respect. Older pupils regularly support younger members of the school, both academically and socially, and this spirit of collaboration is one of our defining characteristics.

Many families choose Tower College at Year 6 or Year 7, seeking a more personalised environment than that offered by larger secondary schools. Our aim is to ensure that every pupil feels valued, supported and able to flourish.

Yours sincerely,

A C Bingley (Ms)
Principal

About us

A School Where Pupils Contribute

We believe that education should extend well beyond the classroom. Pupils at Tower College are encouraged to play an active role in shaping their school experience and to engage in purposeful, real-world projects.

Recent initiatives have included:

  • collaborating with architects on the redesign and refurbishment of the school library and resource room
  • contributing to the redevelopment of a new playground area
  • producing a full film about the school with Feel Good Films, from initial concept through to editing, with a forthcoming premiere at Blackstock Market in Liverpool

These experiences are designed to develop confidence, independence and a strong sense of ownership.

Strategic Development and Innovation

Tower College is a forward-looking school with clear ambitions for growth and development. As we look to grow pupil numbers and strengthen our market position in the independent sector, the role of marketing is central to our future success.

We have recently purchased a restored Dixie Airstream, an American-style diner, which will provide a distinctive space for cookery classes, afternoon teas, small events and community workshops.

This forms part of a wider programme of development, including the creation of an enhanced outdoor space to support activities such as yoga, music sessions and social events, alongside opportunities for community use.

Further plans under consideration include the development of an amphitheatre and additional recreational facilities.

There is also significant potential to develop new income streams through the effective use of our facilities and community engagement initiatives.

The Head of Marketing will play a central role in shaping the positioning, promotion and long-term development of these initiatives.

We are seeking a leader who can not only tell our story with clarity and authenticity, but also drive measurable growth in enquiries, admissions and brand awareness.

A Collaborative and Supportive Community

Strong and constructive relationships with both families and staff are central to our ethos.

Our Parents’ Forum meets each term and provides an effective platform for dialogue and partnership. Similarly, our Staff Forum ensures that colleagues have a meaningful voice in the life and development of the school.

We are committed to fostering a professional environment in which staff feel valued, supported and empowered to contribute fully to the success of the school.
