Higher education

Anderson Quigley’s higher education practice supports universities and alternative higher education providers to make transformational leadership appointments. We work across the full range of institutions – from small specialist universities and leaders in widening access, to research powerhouses and the leading alternative providers – to support a broad range of appointments. We appoint Chairs and Board roles, Vice-Chancellors and executive team members, professional services directors, academic leaders and world-leading professors and chairs. Whatever level of appointment, be it a Vice-Chancellor or a head of school, we apply the same rigour, working with clients to discover their needs, build a compelling candidate proposition and support both clients and candidates with integrity and honesty.

Further education and skills

The Anderson Quigley partners have supported senior appointments in the further education and skills sector for over two decades. We work with colleges, training providers, regulators and agencies to appoint a broad range of senior staff, from college principals and CEOs to senior inspectors and improvement consultants. In a sector that is constantly responding to policy-led change and where resources are constrained, we have supported boards to appoint transformational leaders who, in challenging circumstances, have enabled vocational learners to achieve outstanding outcomes.

Not for Profit

Our Not-for-Profit practice supports organisations of all shapes and sizes to appoint leaders with the skills, experience, values and behaviours to make a lasting impact. We work with charities, social care providers, membership organisations, social enterprises and cultural institutions to make critically important appointments. We work in partnership to source chairs and trustees, CEOs and executive directors as well as experienced and effective interim managers.

Hiring the right leaders is critical to the success of our clients and we have developed a rigorous and successful process to ensure a genuine understanding of each organisation we work with. We focus heavily on values; we take the time to learn about what makes each organisation special and work hard to find a wide range of people who can support its development. We support Not-for-Profit organisations to advance their diversity goals by introducing new talent to the sector and we have a passion for helping people to understand how their skills and experience could add value in the Not-for-Profit sector.

The Anderson Quigley Board Practice recruits chairs, governors, non-executives and trustees to a broad range of organisations focused on society and social development, in education, the not-for-profit sector, the arts and healthcare. We have developed one of the most wide-reaching board practices in the UK and, through our free-to-attend workshops for aspiring non-executives and partnerships with organisations that are focused on improving diversity at board level, we have enabled many boards to appoint outstanding members and achieve their diversity goals.
