Join the AQ team

Welcome

Welcome to Anderson Quigley (AQ)

We’re delighted that you’re considering joining the Anderson Quigley team! We hope this site will help shine a light on life at AQ and what sets us apart.

We have ambitious growth plans for AQ; we are looking to develop our current sector support, broaden into new sectors, and increase our international offering. To achieve this, we are looking to expand our team at all levels – partners, consultants, researchers and business support areas – so that we can responsibly and sustainably grow the organisation at the right pace and balance.

We have big plans, but we will also remain true to our purpose and our people; our unique culture is what makes us AQ, which is why when looking for new people to join the team we will always ensure they share the same principles, values and characteristics first and foremost.

AQ is young yet mature, fun yet serious, commercial yet caring. We know that people are core to what we offer our clients and candidates, and we invest time and effort to ensure we find and develop the right people to represent our brand, maintain our values, and support the wider AQ team.

Everything about AQ is designed to support our people, and the collaborative team effort; we have developed an inclusive, open, honest, friendly and forward-thinking workforce, where everyone collaborates and supports each other to achieve a purpose we are all passionate about.

We know that the world of Executive Search is competitive, and that finding great people is competitive too, that is why, as well as developing a culture we are proud of, we have designed a comprehensive benefits package that sets us apart from our competition, which attracts, develops and supports the very best people and their talents.

So, show us your commitment to our values, show us your passion for supporting people and organisations, show us you want to be part of our exciting growth journey, and we’ll welcome you into our industry-leading firm.

Our benefits

Our business cannot thrive if our people aren’t supported, so we have designed and developed a comprehensive benefits package that supports our people with both their working life and home life.

Flexibility

When we say flexible we mean flexible; we are a truly flexible employer offering both hybrid working patterns and working environments.

  • You can work in whichever location suits you – our office in London, home, or a combination of the two – we will support your decision and ensure you have the tools, technology and setup you need to carry out your role to your best ability.
  • We are also open to discussing flexible working patterns. That might mean working condensed hours, varying your working hours, or even working just during term time; we understand people have personal commitments to support their children, care for family members, or pursue development opportunities or extracurricular activities – we want to support people to ensure they can get the right balance.

Financial

We offer competitive and generous salaries that are further enhanced by:

  • A competitive AQ Commission Scheme for our fee earning employees.
  • Annual Discretionary Bonus Scheme for our non-fee earning employees.
  • Introductory meeting with financial advisors to discuss pension scheme options.
  • Match up to 5% contribution though either our workplace pension scheme, or private company pension scheme – which you can also receive continued financial advice through.
  • Tax saving payments from bonus or commission to your pension via salary sacrifice.
  • Death in service insurance cover which would provide your family or nominated beneficiary with a lump sum payment of 4x your base salary.

Health & Wellbeing

  • Comprehensive Private Health Insurance, from day one of your employment, through our provider WPA.
  • Access to an employee assistance programme that covers support and guidance around emotional wellbeing, healthy lifestyles, legal matters and helping with money management.
  • An environment where talking about mental health and wellbeing is a part of our everyday to ensure staff feel supported; we have signed the Mental Health At Work Commitment and have a dedicated team website for mental health resources and contacts.
  • Annual free eye checks through SpecSavers.
  • Annual contribution to glasses through SpecSavers – free £50 pair of glasses, or £50 contribution towards a higher price range.
  • Annual free winter flu vaccinations.
  • Cash back on Health Checks; AQ will give £200 cash back to help cover the cost every two years through AQ recognised providers.

Learning & Development

We place important emphasis on supporting career development at AQ, offering continued personal development through training, mentoring and giving our team members every opportunity to be involved in different aspects of business delivery. We also offer:

  • £1,000 annual professional development budget for every employee for recognised training.
  • All team one-to-one training to support learning and development of equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • All team one-to-one training to enhance our understanding and support ourselves and each other with mental health.

Transport

  • Participation in a cycle scheme which spreads the cost of a bike loan over a one year period.
  • Participation in the Octopus Electric Vehicles’ electric car salary sacrifice scheme.

Holidays & Personal Time

A healthy work/life balance is important to all our wellbeing and we want to support our team to manage this – we offer:

  • 25 days holiday (+ 8 bank holidays).
  • Christmas holiday office closure.
  • Your birthday off.
  • Additional holiday at 3, 5 and 7 years service.
  • Holiday buy back scheme, up to 10 additional days per year.
  • After five years service, you are entitled to take a one month fully paid sabbatical.
  • Up to four days paid leave per year to devote to charitable work to support your give back to society.

Policies

We are a firm that, at its core, places huge value on our team’s wellbeing. As such we continuously review our policies and procedures, and are always open to discussions to ensure they meet the needs of our people.

We have introduced a number of additional policies, including Enhanced Family Friendly Policy – to support you in parenthood our policy covers parental leave with enhanced pay – IVF & Fertility Policy, Menopause Policy, and Domestic Abuse Policy.

Social

It’s not all work and no play. We like to have a bit of fun too, and our Social Club create a calendar of events across the year, all of which are available for all to attend no matter where you are based, and take the form of both online and offline to ensure everyone is included.

Some of the previous events include, quiz and games nights, creative activities such as ceramics, summer socials, Christmas party (including the famous John Laycock quiz…), team building days, team volunteering days and team dinners.

Our commitment to society

As a business that supports clients and candidates to build a better society, a deep belief in equality, diversity and inclusion is at the heart of our values; we know we have an important role to play in promoting equality, diversity and inclusion and we take this responsibility seriously – doing more, and not just saying more is important to us.

A passion to support organisations with a social or civic purpose is a fundamental principle of our business, and a shared aspiration for everyone who works at AQ. We will always look to create genuine partnerships with organisations where we know we can add value and support – not just stamp our logo and show value through money.

We actively encourage employees to seek opportunities to use their four paid volunteering days a year, pursue non-executive careers, or support causes that are close to their heart.

Don’t just take our word for it – we regularly feature our peoples’ stories and experiences through our “Life at AQ” blog series; you can check out some of these below:
